I recently found out that some one who does some programming for the Sheriff's Office where I work is a ham operator. He is hooking me up with a vhf and a uhf radio. I can honestly say that for the most part ham operators are there for each other and will try to help out if they can. I feel blessed that someone is taking the time to think of me and is unselfishly giving equipment without expecting anything for it. This attitude is what drives me to continue with the hobby. I am now a general class operator and am now working and studdying to become an extra.
