Brother Saikou and brother Demba, you both have made valid points.
If koto Alkali were the chair, most of what is being said today would not have been raised.
But my point of contention here is neither UDP,GDAG nor CORDEG but ourselves as Gambians. Lets put tribe aside in this very sensitive issue. Anyone is free to speak in any chosen language of his/her choice that is fine by me. I try to understand a lot of Gambian languages because I see the Gambia first than tribe.
Having said that, Dr. Saine and his entire executive got it wrong from day one. From the selection of the streering committee to its election. Some of them were both electoral officials at the sametime became executive member by being elected. What sort of democratic election is that?
I cannot understand when the electoral sub committee comprising of Abdoulie Jobe Siga Jange and brother James Bahoum all ended up becoming top executives. Banka amongs the counting officials too became executive member. I know Alkali and his GDAG too plays a crutial role in these whole mess therefore very guilty. Those trying to blame it all on Dr. Saine are bias but he too made a deadly blunder.

Machudo Demba, good points made. However, I do not share your view that "Dr. Saine's mentioning of UDP was a mistake". I firmly believe that transparency, credibility, and playing by the set rules demand that any individual or group be called out for who/what they are. Dr. Swine included.
On the other hand, Suntu and his UDP comrades have no clue about Dr. Saine's contributions to UDP. He may have done similar contributions to other political parties, that I don't know. UDP has always enjoyed his support in every election, including the 2011 one.
Nonetheless, people have every right to ask or raise legitimate questions without being partisan or caught up in a self-destructive tribalism. Even more embarrassing is Suntu's preference for English over one of our national languages, Wollof in this case. Seriously Suntukung?
Demba, I believe we are yet to see it all. Hnnnnnnm.
Pa. S. Kujabi.
