Gale & Steve,

Thanks guys. Got it working.

Just for confirmation, I gather it isn't possible to have swr, power output
and alc read with the same pf key? I assume one would have to either set up
2 keys, or change the values in the menu to switch between power out and
swr/alc. Is this correct?

Many thanks,

Tim.

Tim:

I had the same problem at first.

1. Menu 80 should show 201.
2. Apply a steady CW carrier.
3. Press meter key. (You should hear Power reading, I.E. P100.)

Now:
1. Set menu 80 to 202.
2. Apply a steady CW carrier.
3. Press meter key. (You should hear one of two readings.)

1. "R1.0" or whatever the SWR may be.
2. "A10" or whatever the A L C reading may be.
3. If R or A is not what you want, press the key next to the meter key to
change it.

I hope this helps.

Gale

Subject: TS590 question.

Hi all,

I've recently acquired a ts590, and not having fully read the user manual
yet, was wondering could someone provide some instructions in getting the
VGS1 to announce power, swr etc.

When I press the meter button while applying a carrier nothing is spoken.

Thanks in advance.

Best 73,
