Sorry!  Maybe its something about oppression?
Look at the black musicians, athletes, and comedians.  It seems as groups 
rise toward taking equality, they go through similar routes.
First athletics and entertainment along with small businesses.  Then to 
policemen, local politics, and on to professions.  One generation at a time.
Its amazing today to read what was being published in newspapers against 
Italians and other white non-Anglo immigrants in 1910.  The exact same fear 
mongering against Hispanic immigrants of today.
Nothing but the names of the targets has changed.
