Sorry All, I couldn't hook on to the original thread, as the text was too long! But here it is anyway!
Subject: Re: Encouragement for apartment dwellers
All, First, Ron, ________Congrats on, _1! your 19th anniversary
celebration!, 2! your choice of X Y LS! and 3! your great__ DX
reports!

Secondly, Congrats to Kahline and her husband, and Pat and your wife, for both having who and what you have, and appreciating Him/Her!
Thirdly, I've owned a 703+ and the tuner in both it and the 703
original/(Original is HF only, no six meters,) is, from all the
reviews I've read, reports from friends who actually had the units,
and from my own experience, one of the best "in rig" tuners on the
market!

Fourthly,
I've never used the Blue Star antenna, but I have had very good
experience with the MP1 antennas by Super antenna!
*And I Know Positively, that the MP1 at least, ____can be successfully
tuned by a person, sighted or not, who can develop a steady hand, to
raise and lower the sliding sleeve on the outside of the coil, and a
discerning ear, to detect differences in signal to noise, in the
receiver, as that sleeve is slidden.
In fact, patient practice with this type of antenna, can achieve
accurate enough tuning whether an antenna tuner is used in the circuit
or not!

Bottom line is, that even in a strictly indoor only situation, where
the antenna _can _Not _Be put outdoors, but _Can _Be _Put _As _Close
_To _A _Window _As _Possible, Successful HF operation with five to ten
watts ___Is _Possible! Somewhat limited, indeed! but possible just
the same! Of course, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway,
Both Conditions and Patience are ___Very Important! But It Also Goes
Without Saying, that Any operation is better than no operation!

Fifthly, There's a somewhat old, but still useable discussion of the MP1 antenna on the Icanworkthisthing.com site,/(___please note that contact info for Vern is ____different than listed on that report) and if I can be of any help to any of you wondering about that antenna, I'm available by phone or email.
***HTH, Danny Dyer, Wb4idu.
