Colin,

I remember you used the 47k and 100k.  When I built mine, the docs for 
the 590 said 22k and 100k, and this is what i used.   Probably not 
critical, and maybe just the idea that one value is comparatively high 
and the other comparatively low.

you can also ground the pins with no resistors and get the up and down 
functions.   On the 2000 you are stuck with the up and down function, 
but  they can be changed in menus in the 590 and give you 2 additional 
pf keys if desired.
