I stumbled on a big pile up on 20 meters tonight and finally found the transmitting station on 14043 down the band. The band was fading and he was running along at about 40 or 45 Words per minute. I heard his call a couple of times but he didn't give it often. He was working tons and tons of Europeans but the USA boys were still in the pile up just like they couldn't hear him. And me with no beam. Go figure. It sounded like HB8A or HD8A or whatever. I couldn't google it and get any type of an answer as usual so does anybody know what I might have been listening to?

Phil.
