don't forget, there are ham rigs shown allot of the time, even if they're 
not used specifically in each show.
They had a big thing last year from the last man standing set and if you 
made a contact with the station on the set you got a special card etc...
It's holliwood after all, nothing is portrayed like real life in most 
shows...why would they suddenly portray ham radio like it is in reality if 
nothing else is portrayed that way?
That would be missing the point.
