Well, I should have mentioned that this program is a Windows program. It
doesn't actually drive the braille display directly, but I use my braille
display with JAWS.

Subject: Kenwood rig monitoring and logging
I've been fooling with a program to use with my old TS-930 that monitors and
controls the rig. It's pretty primitive at present, since all I have is an
old TS-930 with the PIEXX board in it. The only thing I can control is the
frequency and memories. However, I've got it set up to work well with my
braille display, so I can monitor the frequency and meter using braille, and
don't have to listen to any speech while trying to listen to the radio! I
find it really distracting to have to pay attention to speech and the radio
output at the same time.
This program, which I call JJRadio, also does logging, and supports
import/export using ADIF. It's nice to be able to log while in a QSO
without having to switch programs, and here again, with the speech off.
I have considered adding using hamlib for the monitoring/controlling aspect
of the program to support multiple rigs. At present though, I just support
the Kenwood commands using the PIEXX board connected via a serial port.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in trying out what I have and
giving me some feedback on how it works for you. I'd recommend using it
with a braille display to get the most benefit from the software. So far
I'm the only one to use this program, so there'll likely be some glitches I
hadn't anticipated. If you'd like to try this out, go ahead and email me
