I have a 590 and there was a band I was convinced that there was a
problem, when it was that button I had held in too long which turned
on the *.drv function for transverters, so it wouldn't even activate
the antenna tuner. that is the key, if your 590 does not activate
the antenna tuner and just gives the low "error" beep, that means
that you have the drv for transverters engaged and maybe be putting
out half a watt or so if that.
hold down that button again and deactivate that function.
