Hi Howard: 

Well it's the 5 or 600 dollars required to repair and reinstall my tower and lack of tall supports on the property. 
I've also had maintenance issues which required the involvement of people who more or less half assed things, so would rather handle things my self with a little help from my XYL.  
I'm interested in a good D X antenna and a vertical should do that.
