Congratulations, Zach! Two things to offer you. First, get a hand-held if
you can. Then get on your local repeater and let them know just who you are.
Second, don't be afraid to ask questions. The stupid question is the one you
didn't ask. So, don't be shy and ask away. There are plenty of folks on this
list as well as other places who will be more than willing to help. The best

Nothing oo awful surprising, though there were more questions about
electronic components than I thought there would be. I don't have a
background in electronics, or electrical engineering, so those were
the questions I found most challenging.
