Hi there, Zak! My name is Doug and my ham call is N6NFF. I live out here in
Sacramento, California. I am a newcommer to the list but not to ham radio.
Good luck when you take the test. Have fun on the air as well as here on the
list. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The "stupid question" is the one you
didn't ask. 73 and God bless. Doug, N6NFF

Subject: introduction

Hi all,
My name is Zach, and I'm a ham radio newbie. I am currently in the
process of studying for my technician class license, and will be
taking my test next week. I've been working through the tech manual
for a month or so now, and am greatly looking forward to obtaining my
license.
I guess my first question for the list is this. Is there anything I
should do, know, or have prepared going in for the test, being totally
blind?
What's the procedure for taking the test itself? Would it be ok to
ask my y-l to write down my answers, or will one of the test admins
transcribe it?
I plan to call the testing site and let them know I'm coming to
eliminate any confusion that might happen, but I wanted to write the
list first to see what I need to do to prepare myself as best as
possible.
Thanks. I look forward to getting to know all the folks on this list,
and enjoying some great radio talk.

Zach
