what did you screw up? you can do a full or partial reset.  Partial won't 
kill all your memories and tuner settings like the full reset does.
Press the A equals B key while powering the radio on.  Give it a second 
after powering on then hit the A equals B key again to confirm.

I think the partial reset is the same but with the A plus B key.

You'll know you've done it if you have the speech synth turned down a bit 
from default...it'll come back loud.
