Pat, I have a dual band mag mount antenna on my 2009 Dodge Caravan.
It is a Diamond 2 and 440 and the mag mount is heavy duty.
I have the coax running through the right side rear sliding door.
I have never had a problem with it.
I have had the antenna and mount on the van for over two years.
The coax looks like it is almost new.
And this coax is in very hot conditions as well as wet conditions.
I paid $80.00 for the antenna and $50.00 for the mount through HRO.

To add to what Colin suggests; I believe that Diamond makes a very decent
line of antenna mounts and perhaps they have a good mag mount that would
fill your needs.  And of course if you could push off your purchase to
Dayton, you could get your hands on all the choices and make an informed
decision.  And besides, those of us who are there with you would give you
all kinds of unsought advice!
