A full reset on a used radio is probably not a bad idea.  Kind of cleans 
things up and lets you start from scratch.

First thing I thought of is what Colin suggests below: The NR functions 
can make things sound a bit goofy.  You may want to tinker with the 3 
buttons next to the headphone jack.

I would do a reset anyway.  You can always get the free MCP-2000 
software from Kenwood and backup  everything first if you want.
