well, one can certainly make an estimate if one knows ones own work, family
and personal schedule, or can approximate those things and deduce how much
time one can spend on development.
IE, I spend 3 hours a week on such and such, and it will probably take me 12
hours to complete the project...IE, about 4 to 5 weeks turn around time.
That's just an example, only he knows how much time he can commit to this
and deduce how long something might take.
no criticism here, just pointing out that even an approximate or general
estimate of turn around time might motivate and encourage willing doaners or
loaners to offer their equipment or resources.
