Tom,
I have used G5RV antennaes for probably twenty years, installed high 
and in the clear and low and not in the clear.  I have never thought 
they were any more likely to cause interference than any other 
wires/beams that I have had in place.  I am old school and still use 
a low pass filter and perhaps that helps.  I'll bet I still have one 
lying around not doing anything if you need one.
Overall for a compromise antenna, I like the G5RV.
