sometimes being taken by a friend or someone you know is much harder because
you feel bad about fighting with them or causing problems.
Even though they gave you a sour deal, sometimes you want to avoid conflict
to maintain a friendship or good relationship...and a bad transaction
doesn't always have to mean a destroyed friendship...
but with anything used, buyer beware as we all know and understand.
I've sold stuff in the past and clearly stated the condition and operability
of the equipment...yet the buyer still tried to cause problems after
receiving the equipment and trying to use it in the condition it was in. So
seller beware sometimes too...even when yo uclearly state the conditions of
sale, some people will try and circumvent that.
But 99 per cent of the time, hams are pretty decent honest people, so one
can usually trust a guy selling a radio or amp or something like that.
there are always bad apples as with any cross section of society, but my
experience is that most hams are true to their word.
