  Subject: The Alpha 1 antenna?

Hi Danny, have you ever heard of the Alpha 1 antenna? It's a 13
foot telescopic whip that you mount on a mast, no radials
required, just a 20 foot run of coax from the antenna to a
matchbox, then another short run from the matchbox to the rig.
It's on sale for $99 this month from somewhere in Kentucky, I
think called the Radio Mart. Normally sells for $199 and is
supposed to be good from 75 meters through 6. Sounds too good to
be true but a local friend of mine got one and is trying it out.
I've talked to him but don't have much information yet. Jem
