Cata lingua romance major ha un variante descendite de latin NOX e le forma
oblique 'nocte'
A. night (cognato per indoeuropee al latin 'nox' e 'nocte)
F. nuit
I. notte
E. noche
P. noite
Iste formas descendeva a partir de Lat. ablative 'nocte' que deveniva le
caso predominante pro formas in le linguas romance.
Secundo Peter Boyd-Bowman in su From Latin to Romance in Sound Charts,
CT in latino ha cambiate se a -tt- in italiano, -ch- in espaniol, e -it- in
francese e portugese.
LATIN:
OCTO -> I. otto F. huit, E. ocho, P. oito octo
LACTE -> I. latte, F. lait, E. leche, P. leite lacte
FACTU -> I. fatto, F. fait, E. hecho, P. feito facto
LECTU -> I. letto F. lit < *lieit, E. lecho, P. leito
etc.
