Walt,
Sounds like the tone squelch might be turned on . Try pressing the 7 key
until you hear the low beep which means it's off. Then press it once more
to be sure the transmit tones are on in case you need them when using the
vfo. I think this will fix it and if not, someone will surely let us know.
