I don't have anything you would want. But I am having some issues with my
Windows 7 Toshiba laptop and N1MM. So I'm thinking about doing contest
logging on the XP desktop that is still on the desk. There may be issues
with RFI, or running too many USB-to-serial adapters through one USB hub, I
don't know. Rig control is too flakey for me to trust it for another
million-point contest with the amplifier running. Good luck finding
something that will work for you.

Subject: Looking for a functional used Windows XP laptop

Hi, all.

I have debated posting this on the list, in hopes that noone will think it
to be inappropriate. The bottom line is that I have become convinced that,
at least at the current time, an older Windows XP laptop of some kind would
be a better computer for me to use for my N3FJP logging software, my TS590
rig interface issues, and logging for any contests I might decide to do. It
just seems as though the new Windows 7 laptop I have isn't as easy to use
for these purposes as the old Windows XP laptop I used to have was.

Anyway, if anyone has a working Windows XP laptop they would be willing to
part with for a reasonable price, please write me off list.

I need a computer that has a reasonably-robust processor for Jaws, and
enough RAM for Jaws and other N3FJP logging software to run smoothly. I
also need a computer that has at least one serial port, and several USB
ports. A computer with a working battery and power supply would also be a
plus.

I have been checking at the University, and at several local computer
service stores, but so far have come up dry. I'm coming to the list because
the folks on here seem very trustworthy, and I know I won't have to worry
about purposely being miss-led by someone who just wants to make a buck or
two.

Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
