forever...just like gas or diesel...well, barring breakdowns or maintinence
shutdowns...
On a 20 pound tank though, and using a generator that is going to keep your
fridge running, lights on, microwave or stove/oven use on a daily
bases...probably not terribly long.
But if you have say 5 of those tanks, probably a 2K generator could run for
a couple weeks with absolute minimal use and shut down when not needed.
Now if your also running a furnace blower motor in the winter to keep your
house warm, your going to use up allot of fuel because that furnace is going
to be coming on all the time.
Personally I'd never use a generator that was dependant upon a utility
service, like natural gas...those services though more stable than
electricity, also go out as we know in the recent NJ gas outages.

Propain has it's advantages because it will store longer, it's easy and safe
to store more or less...it's easy to get and can be cheaper to obtain than
gas...sometimes. And, you can use it for the BBQ if your stove and oven are
electric and you don't want to use the gennerator to power them during
service outages.
I could eat bbq for 2 weeks I think lol.
