Hello Again listers,
I have a Dell Dimension xps T450 running windows 98se with KernelEX on my C:. On a second hard drive, I had installed successfully windows 2000 sp4 on a D: while 98 was still plugged in.
1.My question is that, when I installed some of the KB windows updates, I noticed that since you can not designate a drive, it goes to the C:drive. Then when I looked for those folders that are created with gobbly gook names, they are not there. Most software programs allow me to select D: to install them, and a few things still went to c: that I was able to copy over completely to D: What can I do about the updates that still look at C: and do not give you the opportunity to change destinations?
2. Also , I seem unable to get windows updates, saying it can't find activeX. I know it is there as it was installed through Flash for both ie and opera, as well as seeing it in the registry, and running a activeX test tool that detected it correctly. One forum had mentioned one of the updates can cause a problem, I even uninstalled all IE6sp1 and the updates and reinstalled to no avail, then another suggested rolling back one of the DLL to a previous one and that did not help. Any thought? All activeX settings are enabled.
Thanks for your thoughts
Sue
