I have a Shuttle SX58H7-PRO XPC. When it comes out of sleep mode, the CPU
fan sometimes runs faster than it should. If I have it go back to sleep and
wake it, often the fan speed goes back to normal. The Speedfan program does
not support my model of Shuttle.

There are two questions to the group.

1. Any idea as to why the fan runs faster coming out of sleep?

2. What port do I use to control the fan speed - that is, I am willing
to write a program (am a fairly competent programmer) but don't know what
hardware to access to set the speed.

Thank you for any help.
