I am a female, 56 years ago and discovered I had celiac 10 years ago. Have done well on the diet but have lost 10 lbs in the last year. My normal weight is usually 125-128. I eat pretty well and my diet has not changed much since last year. It seems I can eat almost anything and not gain weight, but would prefer to be at my normal weight. I did try calcium orotate and a vitamin D supplement last year as I heard it was very absorbable, but then became concerned when I started losing weight so I went back on the calcium citrical with vitamin D. My Dexa scan completed after two years shows I have osteoporosis in the spine now (2 years ago I had osteopenia in the spine). I went to the doctor and he has prescribed Actinel. Also scheduled blood tests to check on my thyroid, vitamins, A1C and chloresterol this coming week. Anybody have problems with inability to gain weight and whether it could be something other than thyroid issues? Also, anyone have good results with Actinel?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
