You need to use a different receptacle, as the main unit makes contact with
the receptacle.  The main unit detaches for battery replacement, etc.

In my instance, I had to do a wire jumper from pins 4 and 5, but there are
illustrative diagrams in the instructions for different hookup types.  Also,
Fred from Smartway Solutions is great for troubleshooting.
