Hi Steve, I know you can't use Braillenote notetakers because you
can't install any additional software on them. You could be
right about the Pacmate but I don't have one and don't intend to
get one. Thanks, Jim WA6EKS

Jim,

You probably could use a notetaker if you knew the exact file
format of the
data file, and if you could generate the data. I know, that's a
lot of ifs,
but that's the only answer I have right now. I suppose if you
had a
Pacmate, you could try to run the Kenwood programming software,
but I think
that would be a long shot. I've thought about this a lot, but it
just seems
like too much work to make it happen. I just keep a laptop in
the shack,
and use it to program all my radios.

Steve

Hi Albert, let me know how it goes when you do get to
programming
your rig. I have never tried it because first, the rig is so
easy to program manually, and second, my rig is in another room
from the computer. Just a note, it would be great if we could
use notetakers to program rigs, but I'm sure that's not in the
 cards. Jim WA6EKS

 Subject: TM-V71A question

 Hi All,
I am interested in programming my TM-V71A with the programming
 software with
the rig connected to my Windows XP computer running Window-Eyes
 version
7.5.4.The only problem I have is that I already am using my only
 serial port
to program the Kenwood THF6A. Can I use a serial-to-USB adapter
 for the
TM-V71A or do I need to install another serial port?
