Hi,

You can buy little cork-screw type anchors that screw in to the ground to attach 
your tripod to.

These come in different sizes and one size may work for you.

Often these are used to screw in to the ground and a dog is tied to one so 
he can run around when a yard is not fenced.

Once these are screwed in to the ground you cannot pull them out, you can 
only get them out by unscrewing them.

I don't know if these will be small enough for your backpack though.

Check your hardware store, pet supply store or Wal-mart to see what you can 
find.

You will need to fashion a way to secure the tripod to the anchors.
