you now me as an audiophile and I ha eno complaints whatsoever   for a ham rig it sounds great  clean clear audio and quite good at high volume   it is no htx 202, but it is better than most other handhelds i hae heard  and with headphones it is very good even the fm radio sounds good albeit mono  too bad tey didn't add a 5c stereo decoder for use with headphones
