Hi Steve and all: 

Well the only thing about the Heil kits, 1 they're expensive and 2 they have an XLR on one end to fit the Heil mics. 
My 1B8, has an 8 pin on the mic to accommodate the base jumper cable, similar to the MC-60. I can buy the Heil wire for 11 bucks for 10 feet, so perhaps I'll email Heil to see what they suggest. 
I'm not going to pay 50 bucks for a cable. If that's the case, I'll probably just return my stand I bought over the weekend, sell the MD-1b8 and just by a Pro set Micro duel.
