Hey, if it's corn beef hash, you might not want to get rid of it.
Could come in handy on a camping trip when you are running low on
supplies. But seriously, Could it help to rap the DC power cord
through some of those perrite loops you can get at ham stores and
maybe elsewhere? Jim

    Howard:

The noise has always been there, in the form of birdies and other
junk on
certain frequencies, but it has gotten worse recently--say in the
past year
or so. Now, it covers more bands and freqs than usual.

This leads me to believe that in the bigger picture, there is
something
going on with the charger itself, which ultimately means it may
need to be
replaced.

Yet, it does seem to charge the battery just fine, even with the
hash
problem.

So, for now, I'm trying to minimize the noise until we can get it
looked at
more thoroughly by someone who knows much more about chargers
like this than
I do.

 Tom,

I haven't been on this list very long, however, I believe you
have had
 this
RV for a while. If this is the case, is this the first time the
noise has
appeared? If so, what has changed? Did you have the noise
before?

I know, a lot of questions. Just trying to get the facts!

RV

 Hi, all.

I know we have discussed similar topics before, but I have an
issue in my
 RV
that is now affecting my HF set-up big-time.

Specifically, there is a built-in charging unit for the house
battery
 that
seems to be creating more and more interference on the HF
frequencies.
 The
interference occurs when the charger is in either the "use" or
"store"
 mode.
I know that the charger is causing the interference, since when
I switch
 from "use" to "store
", the interference goes away for a few minutes, until the
charger
 re-sets
itself, after which time, it gradually returns.

When we unplug the RV from the electrical service at our camp
site, the
 interference disappears completely.

As far as I know, since the charger is directly wired into the
RV, there
 is
no way to turn it completely off.

Does anyone have any simple remedies for me to try in order to
get rid
 of,
or at least lessen this interference. It is so bad that it
makes the
40-meter band unusable, which is why I was not on Saturday's
round table.
20 meters isn't much better either, which is rather
discouraging.
