The date is uploaded to the implant which is internal in the person's body.
There is also a data stream which is downloaded from the implant to the
processing unit to verify that it is working correctly and that neural events
are happening correctly.
If you mean how is data uploaded into the unit for mapping, it is usually done
by hard wire.
