The problem with some inspectors, is that they afraid that if they don't
villify even the sound asbestos - they may lose ...what.? credibility?..I'm
not sure.
Painting over the asbestos will encapsulate the "problem", but if an
inspector, realestate agent or the potential buyer is frightened the stuff
will climb off the floors in the middle of the night and strangle their
children, there really is no alternative than removal. Of course, a less
conspicuous encapsulization is overlayment with new tile, carpet or other
"coverup". Cheap carpet may do the trick. Even "encapsulate" may have an
omnious sound to the paranoid.
