Hi Colin, I am pretty sure the Yaesu 857 and 897 have two way computer com's
because a local friend has set up a program where he can zap files to his
rig from a laptop. Jim

doubtful based on yaesu's lack of desire to make any of their radios more
accessible.
though it never hurts to ask right?
I'm not sure if the 857 and the other mobile type HF rigs have a serial port
output...I know they have data out, but I'm not sure it would be in a format
that the hampod could deal with...unless converters and adapters could be
made.
