Hi Harry,

If you use a tuner, I think that a noise bridge is indispensable. The noise
bridge I like is the Vectronics 512 and others say that the MFJ model works
the same. I like the VEC-512 because it emits a pulsing noise that's easy
to hear along with antenna noise. The noise bridge does not tell you your
swr, but the noise bridge null has always given me my lowest swr when I've
checked it with my RF applications P2000 watt and swr meter. If you tune
your antenna by signal strength alone, you may get close to your best swr,
but the tuner may not be tuned to its best low swr point.

The only disadvantage is that the noise bridge costs around $100 and for
such a simple circuit, I think that is a rip off!

Hi Bob and all,
Ok, you guys got me interested in the noise bridge.
As you know, I have a friend who has a Kenwood ts570, and the mfj 949E
antenna tuner. Which noise bridge should I get for that tuner?
Also, will the noise bridge help me with tuning for lowest swr, and, for
also, getting the most power out?
