hey trippy:
you'll likely have to get a 50 amp power supply...I haven't seen too many 
newer ones that are between 40 and 50...IE, 41.
41 amps is the absolute minimum to run the 480HX.
A 50 amp supply will give you that important little bit of extra that is 
always good to have on any power supply.
the thing is, you pay more for the hx version, then you have to dish out a 
pretty good chunk of change for the 50 amp supply...and all your getting is 
3DB increase in your signal and the potential for allot more stuff.
You can always turn off the internal tuner on the standard ts480 if your 
going to use the external manual tuner.
You'll end up spending another $500 or so to be able to run the 200 watt 
480.
maybe that's worth it for you, it wouldn't be for me.
Much better to take that $500 and buy a nice 500 watt linear amplifier that 
will give you at least a 6DB or greater increase...
just my two cents as usual.
again, running power in an apartment is a recipe for problems.
