Hi Harry,

OK, now you're getting somewhere. Explore some of those settings.
Especially anything to do with Firewall. Under the firewall, there may be a
port forwarding option as there is with my Linksys or maybe there is some
sort of advanced link or maybe it would just be something like settings. If
you are persistent enough, you should find it.

When you eventually reach the port forwarding page, you will see a bunch of
edit fields and combo boxes or some such similar items. You will have to
select the UDP setting (UDP, TCP and some other one are the possible
choices.) You will then have to type the port ranges into the edit fields.
For the lower you would type 5198 and for the higher you would type 5199.
This part is pretty simple. If you try with some other software, then you
may have to set individual ranges and individual ports--meaning that you
might need to do several references to the same program. This is not the
case for Echo Link.

One other thing: some firewall/router configurations actually give you
program field so you can customize the forwarding to individual programs.
This is good for security--since if another program tries accessing the
opened ports, it won't be able to do so--thus cutting down on the amount of
damage that Trojans and viruses can do. In the case of my Linksys, all you
have to do is type in the program name. In some other routers, you may have
to type the path to the program executable.

Good luck.
