It will stay disabled until you tap that button again to turn it back on, I 
think.  I assume it runs the same way as the TS-2000, Ts-590 etc.

  Harry, just press the tune button but don't hold it.  A quick press =
disables it
  but if you hold it in it will be re-enabled.  If you hear it trying to =
tune
  you'll know you've held it for too long.
