I'm In process of changing ISP, TV, Phone and Internet service.
Wondering about OOMA, a VOIP service offering life time local and long distance phone service for a flat $200 plus around 11$s yearly FCC fee.
(I realize the lifetime mentioned, is the lifetime of the company rather than the user, but Ooma's been around since 2007, and is pretty highly esteemed by folks whose independence and honesty I've come to respect.)
**several years ago I used the original Magic Jack, with pretty good success, considering the computer I ran the device through had problems, as did my ISP, router and Modem at the time.
Since both OOma and MagicJackPlus no longer require running through a computer, only plugging their device into a modem, I think either might do even better now than then. *I intend to have a hard wired phone line for incoming calls and outgoingt 911 calls.
Would like to hear from any of you using either service. Thanks, Danny Dyer, Wb4idu
