I'd be interested in how you made it work I sent the bloody thing back because I didn't see an
obvious way to make it work on this machine.

I disagree as I use the wouxun
kg-uv6 programming software from powerwerx.com and it works just fine =
for me in Jaws 13.
It was easy programming the many memory channels.

  let me weigh in on this as well. The Wouxun software in any of its =
variations is not accessible
  either.

  oh sorry ron, I didn't address the second question.
  Like I said, there is no current software that is screen reader =
friendly=20
  that I know of for the UV5R.
  Buddy may know something I don't, but neither chirp nor the supplied =
baofeng=20
  software are accessible.
  So the programming cable isn't that useful, unless you have a kenwood =
HT=20
  that you want to use the cable on.
  The ear bud head set can be useful if you don't mind using something =
like=20
  that...it sounds good both on RX, and on tx using the small PTT switch =
on=20
  the headphone wire and the inline microphone.
  SO I would say forget about the cable unless you have a kenwood HT =
that you=20
  can use it on, and the headset is kind of a flimsey little thing that =
is=20
  more bother than it's worth for my operating.
  A real speaker mike is more useful I think.
  That said, you will most often get something added into the package =
and it's=20
  not going to cost more to have it or not have it added to the =
package...
