I've used them with the prolific chipset and with the latest drivers,
usually have to be downloaded not on the CD, I've yet to have a problem and
have used them for rigblasters, TS-2000, still use them for programming the
HT's I have or have had, and mobiles that will program with the newer
laptops. My main station computer has built in serial ports, it's a junk
desktop I resurrected and rebuilt but my main laptop, and netbooks have been
used at times as well and other computers over the last few years and that's
what I've found. I stay far away form radio shack adapters and usually get
the mid priced ones.
