I'd say any of the Kenwood line, I love my TS-2000. The only real difference 
accessibility wise is for some settings like mic gain and power you have to 
count clicks on the dale form the beep at the lowest or highest setting and 
they don't rap around, you hit maximum, that's it until you turn it the 
other way. I actually find it says too much so likely the 480 and 590, which 
speak a little more would probably drive me up a wall.
