Hi Steve,
Yep, that is the right address, and each time I've tryed to open that web page, I get this message, "internet explorer cannot display the web page."
I've tryed it 6 times now.

  Harry,

If you read the manual for your modem, you will see that although it is not
a router, it does have a hardware firewall. You need to open the modem at
http://www.192.168.1.254 unless they gave you a different address. Then,
  click on Firewall and Settings.

  Hi all,
  Well, here's the latest.
  I've got a gateway 1070B modem.
So, I did go to the port forwarding page at portforwarding.com, which is =
linked from the echo link web page.
and clicked on my brand, Gateway, and clicked the routers page, and =
there were just the wb series, and the wr series of routers.
So, this modem doesn't have a router.
But I feel a bit better, since I've made some progress.
