It is very easy to tell when the internal tuner is on or off on a ts570 or
ts2000. If you hold the tune button in for 2 seconds the tuner will always
turn on or remain on. If you know the tuner is on, just tapping the tune
button will always turn it off.

my license, go

push the tune button fast, you hold it to tune, if you hit it fast you'll
hear a click and that's the tuner shutting off. If you hit it fast again
that turns it on, I wish it wasn't so easy but it is. I'd rather see you
have to hit a function button or go in the menu, this way you can turn it on
by mistake or off and I've done it with the 570 when I had it and with my
TS-2000 especially now where I don't need the tuner anywhere except 75
meters.
