Have you used the mfj 949e?
Does it have the knob that clicks on it? I know the 941 I use to have did.

  Trippy, I was mostley refering to a manual tuner such as a Palstar or a M F 
  J which I have used both and work well.  You do need some way of setting the 
  tuner like a S W R  or perhaps a noise bridge and then some quite poor 
  antennas do work.  73
