Not complaining, just asking. Let me explain, please!

If I initiate, respond to, or reply to a message going to this group using my Braille Plus, something strange happens. When I read the message after it is posted, the Braille Plus says that it can not read the message and advises that I check with my ISP. That same message when read on this PC, has strange characters and dozens of equals signs. A sighted friend of mine asked me which character set the Braille Plus uses when sending email. I can't find any settings to check. Any thoughts, please!
