Yes, you would run AFSK (audio frequency shift keying) where the radio
is in ssb and the sound card in the sl usb generates the tones. In true
FSK (frequency shift keying) theradio hard keys the radio and generates
the tones with the radio in RTTY mode.
Just different ways of skinning the cat. Your SL usb will do AFSK just
fine. So will the sound device in the 590, but I know you never got
that to fly.
