For the sake of discussion, I have always referred to the G5RV antennas
that used a different feedline configuration from the original design as a
"Modified G5RV."  So, everyone here is correct, but it is true that the
original G5RV did not use coax the way it is being described here, as you
have acknowledged, thus, it is more accurately referred to as the "Modified
G5RV."
